Full description
Smith, N. J. L., 1991, Quarry in Hockmoor Plantation (Worksheet). SDV347764.
Large quarry face discovered in dense vegetation in Hockmoor Plantation. At the base of the quarry face a small room / cave was recorded, built within the rock. This has a built doorway with wooden frame. The activities here also seem to have necessitated the diversion of the adjacent Holy Brook for a short distance; its old path is now just to the north. Other details: Woodland Grant Scheme Site Visit.
