Full description

Bellamy, L., et al, 2002, A Study of the Maritime Archaeology of the Eastern Tamar Estuary (Report - Survey). SDV348208.

Ward Quay lies on the opposite bank of the river to Cotehele Quay in Cornwall. A cart track running down the slope from the farmhouse leads to the quay which is thought to have served the mine during the periods when it was worked. After the closure of the mine the quay may have continued to have been used for serving adjacent farms until well into the 20th century.
Evidence of the quay is clearly visible but the original stone slipway has been re-surfaced with concrete. Map object based on this Source.
