Broadly oval enclosure at Hackney shown on 1880s-1890s 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, cut through by the railway.

Young, G., 2011, Archaeological Watching Brief on Works at Hackney Marshes, Kingsteignton (Report - Watching Brief). SDV347505.

An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the works for a new cycle route through Hackney Marsh Nature Reserve. For the purpose of the project the work was divided into three sections. Works in section A, at the eastern end of the route around an oval enclosure were entirely superficial and no previously unexcavated soil was exposed. No features relating to the oval enclosure were identified and no other archaeological observations were made.
