Curvilinear enclosure visible, divided into six plots.

In many cases, the name is convincingly descriptive of the topography. The enclosure of Great Potheridge, 'Porriga' in 1086, straddles a ridge, while the settlement nestles, well watered, at the head of a south-east facing combe below. Map object based on this Source.
