Documented in 1330 as the home of John Trobbel and as Thurbelheagh in 1333.


Clements, H. A., 1994, Survey of Farmsteads in the Devon Part of the Blackdown Hills, Plan and photos (Report - Survey). SDV344050.

The farmstead includes a Grade II listed 16th century farmhouse. To the north are two stone walled buildings with corrugated iron roofs which are considered to be in poor condition (B.A.R. 2.2.4). To the west is a 19th century stone walled barn, also with a corrugated iron roof, also in poor condition (B.A.R. 2.2.4). It now adjoins some 20th century farm buildings.
