Manning, P. T., 2003, Archaeological Evaluation of a Proposed Golf Course Site, Exminster, Devon, 3, 4 (Report - Evaluation). SDV336102.

Area 15. A ditch aligned east-west was identified. The feature, which was cut into the natural subsoil, was of an open 'V' shape, and measured 2.1 metres wide and 0.4 metres deep. The ditch contained orange-brown sandy clay, which overlay a light yellow-brown sandy clay. The feature may represent a former field boundary, although none are shown in this position on the 18th century tithe map or the later Ordnance Survey 1880s-1890s map.

Area 20. Remains of a former bank, aligned east-west, and two associated ditches were identified in area 20. The bank measured circa 1.7 metres wide, comprising the main core, and what appeared to be slumped material on its southern side. The southern ditch, which had been re-cut, was of an open 'V' shape and measured circa 1.5 metres wide by 0.5 metres deep. The northern ditch measured 1.16 metres wide at the top, but was only exposed to a depth on 0.18 metres due to the area being waterlogged. This feature represents a field boundary depicted on the tithe map.
