Full description

An earthwork is visible on aerial photographs of April 1946. Other details: DCC RAF 3G/TUD/UK/158 5058-9 19-APR-1946.

A probable former track is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards as an earthwork circa 300 metres to the south-east of Berry Farm, Hartland. Where the north-western end of the probable track meets with road or farm track to Berry, a dog-leg in the road-side field boundary would suggest a gate previously provided access to the track at this point. The relict track is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1880-1890s 25 inch map, possibly supporting the interpretation it had fallen out of use by this date. The possible trackway continues to be visible on later aerial photography.
