Name:Extractive pit to the east of Cheristow Farm

A probable quarry is visible as a cropmark, and possibly an earthwork, on aerial photographs from 1959 to 2007. It is likely to predate the late nineteenth century, as it is not depicted on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping.

A probable quarry pit is visible as a pale cropmark on aerial photographs from 1959. Although it is difficult to distinguish due to harvesting activity, it may survive as an earthwork or cropmark, just visible as a darker feature on aerial photographs of 2007. No quarry is marked on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping in this location, so presumably extraction activity pre-dates the late nineteenth century.
