Full description

Norris, M., 2008, The Well House, Little Mounthill, Colyton, Devon (Un-published). SDV351812.

The well house has stone rubble walls and a thatched roof. The well is covered with a cast iron manhole cover. It is difficult to date, but may have been erected as a shelter for the Victorian hand pump dated 1893, and constructed in a style to match the house. The structure is in a poor state of repair, and the proposed works consist of like for like repair to the well house roof beam and wall plate, and repair and re-thatch of the roof using water reed.
