Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
L-shaped building depicted.

Cedar Shade Hotel. Early C19 villa. Two storeys stuccoed. Originally L plan with slightly taller projecting block. This now forms the centre of the south front as a two storey wing was added in 1952 designed in complete sympathy with original structure to balance east wing.
Set in large garden with magnificent cedars.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning stayed here with her father and brothers 1833-35.
