The Ashill Inn. Public house, formerly known as The New Inn. Dated 1835. Roughcast cob on stone footings; Plain tile gable end roof. Originally a 2-room, through-passage cottage, each room heated by internal end stacks with brick shafts. The ground floor now consists of a single bar room. 2 storeys. Exterior. Front: symmetrical 3-window range; first floor with two 3-light casement windows to either side of a central 2-light casement window. 3-light windows flank central panelled door. Interior. Some unchamfered ceiling beams; fireplaces each with unchamfered wooden lintel. Roof with sawn principals, halved, crossed and pegged in the traditional manner. The Ashill Inn contributes to the village scene.
