Formerly known as Upcott. Detached house, originally a farmhouse. Probably late C16, considerably altered and enlarged in the C18 and C19. Roughcast cob on stone footings; gabled-end pantiled roof. Formerly a 3-room, cross-passage plan, the service end to the left of passage, with the rear wing at the higher end. Axial stack backing onto site of passage heats hall; service end and inner room heated by all-brick external stacks, possibly C18, that to the right with numerous set-offs. 2 storeys. Front: asymmetrical 4-window range, three 12-pane horizontally sliding sash windows the sills with wooden guide pegs and a late-C20 casement window to first floor; 2 similar sash windows, and 3 casement windows, all of 2 lights, one (C19) with transom to ground floor. Doorway with canopy on shaped brackets. Guttering supported by small brackets is C20. Interior: Some unchamfered cross ceiling beams to service end and inner room; some early C19 joinery. The roof was entirely replaced about 20 years ago (information from present occupier).
