Public house. Mid 19th century. Painted incised stucco, slate roof. Double-depth plan with two-storey rear right wing on Fore Street. Exterior: three storeys; symmetrical three-window range. Formerly a 6/6-pane sash over the door flanked by 6/6-pane tripartite windows, now all are 20th century. The painted stone doorcase has panelled pilasters with moulded caps and plinths supporting an entablature. Ground-floor windows have late 19th century cast-iron Gothic railing in the sills to protect the windows. Twentieth century square cornice and blocking course. The right return in Fore Street is blank, the rear wing has a late 19th century shop front with a rich dentil and modillion cornice to the fascia which is supported by painted stone pilasters with Corinthian capitals. Twentieth century door to the left with overlight and 20th century small-pane glazing to the right. Interior: not inspected.
