Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, Untitled Source (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV24.

Northerly one of two redoubts at great fulford. Vis=2/5/1953.(os). This redoubt is similar to the southerly one but is encompassed by a small wood. It does not overlook great fulford house but guards a possible approach. Civil war fortification. The house was besieged for ten days and subsequently used as a base.(delderfield). Vis=30/3/1982 (os). One of two small earthworks overlookingthe approaches to great fulford. Only documentary reference is os 25" 1885. Too small for the use of large cannon. Subsequently mutilated.
