Cropmarks which have formed over levelled ditches, circa 4m wide, are visible on aerial imagery taken from 1946 onwards. The visible cropmarks form a sub-rectangular enclosure which measures circa 80m long by 45m wide. It is defined by fairly angular corners and a straight edge to the north, with a more rounded edge to the south. A well-defined entrance, circa 7m wide, is also visible to the east, along with two possible linear antennae which extend off the south edge. An additional section of ditch visible within the enclosure to the southeast supports the interpretation that there are at least two possible phases of construction present. Two faintly defined linear cropmarks to the east and cropmarks to the southwest may also represent associated features, although their origins are less certain. The character of the enclosure and proximity to Milber Down hillfort (MDV8649) and Milber Down Camp (MDV8653) support a prehistoric or Romano-British date.

Cambridge University Collection, 23/06/1952, DAP/HR, 53 (Aerial Photograph). SDV304220.

Small enclosure shown as cropmark on aerial photograph by St. Joseph. Located to south-east of Milber Camp, on north side of road, opposite reservoir and the so-called Roman homestead site. Circa 30 metres by 60 metres. Two sites at right angles appear to show up, with the possibility of part of a third side. The Ordnance Survey map marks a small earth bank nearby.
