Full description

Couldrey, W. G., 1932, Memories and Antiquities of Paignton, 231 (Article in Serial). SDV343465.

The Crown and Anchor Inn was an old posting house in Church Street. It was very large, with an assembly room and stabling. William of Orange slept there in 1688. It was pulled down in about 1890.

The site of the Crown and Anchor Inn. William of Orange is said to have stayed here.
