Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1953, SX86SE6 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV317232.

Knowles, D. + Hadcock, R. N., 1971, Medieval Religious Houses: England and Wales, 205, 207 (Monograph). SDV323253.
According to Tanner (1744, p96) lands in Blakedon were granted c.1242 on condition that seven Trinitarians were placed here. Tanner doubts the agreement took place, and that a monastery was never founded. Trinitarians were a sort of Augustinian friar.
Devon County Council, 1986-87, Devon Religious Houses Survey (Un-published). SDV347681.
Blagdon was one of sixty plus religious houses investigated as part of the Devon Religious Houses Survey, a Devon County Council Rescue Project. The aims of the survey were to identify how much remains of the site and to consider how any surviving remains could be conserved for the future. The work comprised a rapid assessment of the site, summarising the present state of knowledge, followed by a more detailed survey where sufficient evidence and remains survived. See separate entries for the results of the surveys.

A monastic establishment, possibly Trinitarian, may have existed at Blagdon. There has been little research on the site, apart from Knowles and Hadcock, and there are no known architectural or buried archaeological deposits. Knowles and Hadcock suggest that the reference may in fact only be to a grant of land and that a monastery may never have been founded here. Further documentary research is required in order to establish its location and status, if it existed.
Turton, S. D., 1992, Archaeological Assessment of DCC Torbay Ring Road Stage 3, 2 (Report - Assessment). SDV343469.
