Full description

Department of Environment, 1972, Tiverton, 13 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV52494.

Nos 2 to 14 (even), Bridge Street. Late 18th century, three storey, mainly stucco fronts. No 12, probably early 19th century, two flush frame sash windows with glazing bars to upper floors. Mid 19th century wood shop front. Small eaves soffit.

The Square Meal Cafe (Formerly Listed as:Bridge Street Nos.2-14 (Even)).
House with cafe on ground floor. Probably late 18th century. Plastered externally, roof material not visible from street. Exterior: three storeys. Two-window front. Shop front with pilasters with sunk panels and roundel decoration, the fascia supported on moulded brackets which are are paired over the right-hand door. Four-panel door to left with boarded overlight, four-panel cafe door to right with overlight. Four-pane, high-transomed shop window with panels below the sills of each light. Attractive ornamented board over shop window consists of a shaped board with standards with finials and a central roundel with a finial, board lettered with '12 Bridge Street'. Interior: not inspected.
