An earlier 19th century row of cottages curved round the counterscarp of the castle motte ditch. 2 storeys. Welsh slate roof with red brick stack. Colour-washed random limestone rubble fronts. Irregular fenestration: Number 10 with 2 casement windows; Numbers 11 -13 with architraved sash windows; Number 13A with paired sash windows with timber lintols. Most windows with glazing bars. Number 10, recessed doorway approached by steps with half glazed door. Numbers 11 and 12, entrances under verandah at first floor level approached by steps with wrought iron handrail; panelled doors. Number 13 ground floor openings under wide segmental arches: carriage entrance and half glazed door with fanlight. Number 13A; recessed doorway with half glazed door.
