Described by polwhele and recorded in early photographs (cherry).

The history of lindridge around the time of the dissolution and after is described (benthall).

Period three ceiling in the ballroom, c.1673. Another in the dining-room dated 1690. Central amorini are featured (french).

John, not henry, line who bought lindridge. History of ownership and list of the lords of the manor of lindridge, which was a sub-manor of bishopsteignton. From 1050 to 1549 it was held by the bishops of exeter (cleland).

A notable large mansion, gutted by fire in 1963. The wings had been demolished in the c18. The centre, with fine ballroom with 1673 ceiling and other work of this date, was refaced in brick and given a queen anne appearance in 1916 (cherry + pevsner).
