Full description

Headstone to Frederick Foot, artist, who died at Lustleigh 4 Feb 1908. White marble with lead lettering. Inscription set on drawing-board carried on easel with palette and brushes attached. Stone finished with a shaped scrolled pediment. Frederick, aged 77, was the youngest son of Peter Foot. Frederick Foot is noted for his drawings of the old market house at Ashburton, made shortly before its demolition in 1849. (Transactions of Devonshire Association: 1924-: P78, 100, 101).
