Summary

Linhay about 25 metres south-west of Chittleford Farmhouse, on the opposite side of the road. Probably dates to the 17th or 18th century. Granite rubble, roof covered with corrugated iron. A double linhay (very rare), open both sides and with a stone dividing wall in ground storey. One storey with loft.

WIDECOMBE-IN- SX 77 NW THE-MOOR 2/145 Linhay about 25 metres south-west - of Chittleford Farmhouse, on the opposite side of the road GV II
Linhay. Probably C17 or C18. Granite rubble. Roof covered with corrugated iron. A double linhay (very rare), open both sides and with a stone dividing wall in ground storey. 1 storey with loft. Ground storey has roughly-shaped granite posts on each of the long sides. Roof-trusses have curved feet pegged to the ends of the principal rafters on each side; collars pegged and nailed to their faces. The linhay lies across the road from the farmhouse, behind the barn.
