The tower has an unusual buttress arrangement. The exterior of the church has been renewed. Pevsner describes the pulpit, 16th century bench-ends and the church plate.

The parish church is almost entirely a 15th century structure with some slight traces of earlier work. The pulpit is 17th century and there are some carved bench-ends.

The earliest work is in the north aisle which may have been the original nave in the 12th century. The rest of the church is mainly 15th century including the stained glass of which a list is given. There are some 16th century bench ends and the pulpit is 18th century.

Parish church. C15, substantially rebuilt and restored in the late 1870s (church reopened 1879), architect Edward Ashworth of Exeter. Stone rubble with polychromatic detail to the 1870s north wall, bottom stage of tower dressed granite, volcanic, freestone and granite dressings; slate roof with crested ridge tiles. Nave, chancel, west tower, 5 bay north aisle, south porch. See DoE list for full details.
