Summary

At watcombe three roman bronze coins of 4th century maximiamus, constantine i and constantine ii were found by a boy from westhill school in soil at the base of a sandstone tower near king george vi playing fields. Since all three coins have been coated with lacquer, they are not necessarily local finds. They have been identified by the british museum as issues of maximian, after a. D.305, mint of aquileia; constantine i, of a. D.326-30; and constantine ii as caesar, a. D.330-5, mint of constantinople.
