Summary

Kent's cavern. Rounded stones were found in the cave earth, not derivable from the cavern hill. Two stone tools were also found:- part of a whetstone was found on 17th may 1865 in the first foot level: a piece of purplish-grey grit. It stood in a vertical position in a small cavity in the north wall of the great chamber. A hammer-stone in the form of a flattened spheroid of coarse red sand- stone was also found on 29th august 1865.
