Summary

Kent's cavern. The undervault. The cave earth and the breccia were washed confusedly together by water descending to the lower levels.35 finds were made: 47 bear teeth, 33 of hyena, two of fox, numerous bones and fragments, one chert flake and the greater portion of a large quartzite pebble:- a. A chert flake. It was of a dark grey colour, and of pentagonal outline. It had probably been produced artificially. It was found with the tooth of a fox and bones in the first foot level in november 1877. B. A quartzite pebble. It was over half of a well-rounded ellipsoidal mass. It did not appear to have been used as a hammerstone. It was found in the second foot level in november 1877.
