Summary

The church house at torre. Vis=estimated -/-/1959 (russell, p. ) about 1520 abbot dyer granted to his trustees a piece of land for the building of a church house, west of the church path, and in 1840 the building was greatly enlarged as the parish workhouse. Maps show that the building stood diagonally opposite the existing inn, alongside the church path. Vis=estimated -/-/1960(copeland, g. W. ) a little north of the church at the junction of church lane and laburnum street is the church house inn, a semi-hexagonal building with stuccoed and painted walls and a hipped roof. It looks like a building of the first half of the last century.
