Name:AQUEDUCT in the Parish of

Summary

Part of an artificial watercourse appears on the os plan of tormoham of 1865. The water is shown emerging from the ground immediately to the south of the old mill road junction with avenue road, and this may well have been the site of fulforde bridge. The watercourse then leads southward along the eastern side of avenue road, disappearing underground at the junction of falkland road, chestnut avenue and avenue road, reappearing inside the abbey precincts near the abbey gates entrance. It was probably the scirewille stream.
