Summary
There is no information on the farm through the yard of which people had to pass to get to torre abbey sands before the building of the torbay road in 1836. The approach to it was 'at times impassable, narrow, dirty and much too steep'. The higher part of the present abbey road is the only part which could be called steep. The farm probably occupied the position near or on the site of the present crossroads at the junction of abbey road with tor hill road.
