Godfrey, E., 1969, Notes on Dawlish Parish and its Churchwardens' Accounts, 29 (Article in Serial). SDV303677.

Two stones, on the south wall of St. Gregory's church near the entrance gates, to the memory of Gilbert Clapp and his wife, Avis. Gilbert Clapp's ship is shown on his stone. He was a master mariner, and the accounts show that he was 'seated in the church' in 1694.
