Milestone marked as M.S. Barnstaple. 10. A benchmark is also indicated.

Jenkinson, T., 2012, B3217/UC/B3042 Barnstaple to Crediton via High Bickington, Labbetts Cross and Morchard Bishop (Un-published). SDV366881.

Site visit 2nd February 2012. Milestone 250m west of Bale's Ash, on west side of the road, under the hedge just to the north of the layby. Inscribed 10/BARUM. It is a small, tombstone type milestone set up c.1879 to commemorate the closure of the turnpike. It has been damaged by a grass cutter. Grade II listed.
