6 Buttgarden Street.
House with shop. Early 19th century; shop front probably mid 19th century. Solid rendered front walls; upper part of Buttgarden Street front has traces of masonry markings. Hipped slate roof. Rendered chimneys on left side-wall and rear wall, the first of these with 3 spiked pots. Three storeys with basement; 2-window range to Buttgarden Street, 3 windows to Lower Meddon Street. Raised band at sill-level in second storey of both fronts. Shop front occupies the ground storey towards Buttgarden Street. Three-paned display window with upright glazing-bars to right, canted on left towards half-glazed double-doors with solid moulded lower panels; moulded cornice on consoles above whole shop front. Upper-storey windows in this front have keystones; 6-paned sashes with horns. Return front has doorway in middle bay of basement-storey; late 20th century wood surround, half-glazed door. Left-hand windows in ground, second and third storeys blind, remainder glazed with barred sashes. 8-paned sashes in all 4 right-hand windows, 6-paned ones in the 3 middle windows; left-hand basement window has 8-paned lower sash and 4-paned upper sash, both with horns.
