2 and 4 Honestone Street. (Formerly Listed as: Honestone Street No.2).
Pair of houses with shop (now out of use). Early/mid 19th century. Solid rendered walls. Hipped slate roof. Large late 20th century red-brick chimney. Three storeys; number 2 has 2-window fronts to Honestone Street and Market Place. Rounded corner with former shop front in ground storey. Latter has half-glazed double doors with moulded lower panels. Flanking them are 2 attached Tuscan columns supporting an entablature which continues across a display window at either side: 8-paned display window with canted sides to right, 6-paned one with iron grille at the top to left. Other windows have shaped cement surrounds and mostly 8-paned sashes; Honestone Street front has 20th century casement in ground storey and the right-hand second and third-storey windows are blind. To left of ground-storey window the house doorway with shaped surround; door with 2 flush bottom panels, the upper part now glazed. Moulded board below the eaves on both fronts. No 4 has 1-window front matching that of number 2, with house doorway to right of ground-storey window. Latter contains a 20th century wood casement; 8-paned sashes in upper-storey windows.
