A rectangular, concrete pillbox with a blast wall on its NNW side.

Full description

Standing on a raft of concrete in an open field is a rectangular, concrete pillbox with a blast wall on its NNW side. Around the roof edge small piles of concrete have been placed to break up the straight outline. The two corners on the R. Chelmer side, to the E, are “chamfered”. Inside, the walls and roof shuttered with corrugated iron sheeting. An aerial photograph taken in 1946 shows this pillbox to have then stood in a N/S hedgeline. <1>
