Anti Tanks Blocks
Full description
From the South, the anti-tank ditch of the GHQ Line reached the River Crouch just E of the Sewage Works. On the other side of the river, it continued northwards from a point some 250 yards to the E of the S bank junction. Between the ditch and the river, two anti-tank blocks can be seen on an aerial photograph taken in 1946. By 1960 they had disappeared, either demolished or buried beneath the built-up river bank. <1> <2>
