Summary
Road Barrier (destroyed )
Full description
Passing through East Hanningfield, the anti-tank ditch of the GHQ Line paralleled the A130, keeping between 100/300 yards to the E of the roadway. Where the line crossed Pan Lane the ditch to the N and S of the lane were connected by a road barrier. This can be seen on a 1946 aerial photograph. Five concrete blocks stand on the S side of the lane and three on the N. These would have been bridged by a moveable obstruction. <1>
Nothing of this barrier now remains.
