Summary

Road Barrier (destroyed)

Full description

The GHQ Line anti-tank ditch zig-zagged northwards from the Pan Lane road barrier (SMR 20190), keeping to the E of the A130, until it crossed to the W of the A130 at this point. An aerial photograph taken in October 1946 clearly shows the ditch. A faint row of perhaps eight dots can be made out either concrete blocks or their remains on the E side of the road. An aerial photograph taken in June 1960 shows them to have been cleared away by that date. <1> <2>
