Summary
Floodlight
Full description
An aerial photograph taken in May 1946 shows the clear shape of an experimental “floodlight” standing in a meadow to the W of Brook End Road. At that time, its steel structure can be seen to have been still erect. To its W, the concrete base of the generator building is visible. <1>
In 2005, this entire area has been re-developed to Chelmer Village and the site of the floodlight is now Wilkinsons Mead.
