Summary
Ammunition Shelter (destroyed)
Full description
N of the wartime Widford Roundabout, between the railway and the gardens of houses fronting Moulsham Street, was an orchard. Between the trees in the northern part of the orchard stood a nissen-hut type ammunition shelter. This can be most clearly seen on a low-level oblique aerial photograph taken in March 1949. It was typically small, with a corrugated iron curved roof and brick end walls. <1>
This entire area has now been re-developed by the houses of Redmayne Drive.
