Summary
Radio Listening Station, Aerial Site (destroyed)
Full description
See Radio Listening Station, Command Post, Rolphy Green, SMR 20988 and Radio Listening Station, Aerial Sites, Rolphy Green, SMRs 20989 to 20993.
An aerial photograph taken in June 1946 shows what is apparently an Aerial Site for a Radio Listening Station. It is the same layout as those documented from aerial photographs and local memory at Rolphy Green, Ford End. It is circular; the same 35 yards diameter; central hut; straight pathway access; and outside hut; as the five which served the Command Post at Rolphy Green. However, in this case there are no Nissen huts visible. It is possible that this was a pre-development or testing site although this is pure hypothesis. Nothing of it now survives and the site is open land. <1> <2>
