Full description

Contemporary records state, “Magazine. Meadow south of house and buildings, Broadgates. Map ref. 092271”. (Mil. Ed.) <1>

“Broadgates” is a large house to the west of Vicarage Road, Roxwell, SE of St. Michael’s Church. An aerial photograph taken in June 1960 shows the house with a T-shaped meadow immediately to its S. In 2006, most of this area has been built over by the houses of Church Green. <2>

The NGR above is the approx. centre of the meadow.
