Full description
3 socketed axes and some pieces of bronze cake were found in Plantation Road during the 1960s. The cake was thrown away and one of the axes disappeared. The Passmore Edwards Museum acquired the other two in 1972. The find spot's exact location is not known but possibly these finds once formed part of the same hoard as that found in 1984 at 72 Plantation Road (see 6179). Like that hoard these items are part of the Ewart Park phase of the late bronze age <1> <2> Drawings of the 2 axes are in the SMR <3>
