Full description

A large late post-medieval building, apparently an aisled barn, at Moor Farm [10920]. The building dated to c.1750 and later collapsed; it is not shown on the 1839 tithe map. It appears that the insertion of a cellar undermined the western wall and precipitated the building's collapse. Alternatively, it was demolished during remodelling of the farmyard which took place in the earlier 19th century <2>. The site of the barn's south end had been destroyed by later ground disturbance.
