Full description
A ditch running north-south was observed during the cutting of footings for a new house. The ditch was of V section, 1.5m in depth from the land clearance surface. It lies on the possible line of the 'Old Park' boundary. In the fill were three medieval potsherds; one Roman sherd was found on the spoilheap. (The NGR given by <1> does not appear to be correct; that used here is for a nearby house which has plainly been built in the former rear garden of another.) For the deerpark, see [6381].
