Full description

A remnant of a small park <1, 3>, shown covering approximately 21 hectares on the 1881 OS map <2>. This was the park attached to St Ibbs House [15998], and appears to have developed during the occupancy of the Rev William Lax from 1801. Within the park is an unusual early 19th century icehouse [215], a bridge [30713] at the head of the lake, and an observatory [5976], built in 1801.
