Monument Types
- PILLBOX (World War II - 1939 AD to 1945 AD)
Full description
A few scattered bricks and concrete in the undergrowth are all that remains of a pillbox shown on the 1971 OS map <3> and listed by Wills <1>. The remnants are immediately alongside the W edge of the A10 roadway; the pillbox was obliterated by the new road built in the early 1970s. The brickwork, and the hexagonal plan on the OS map, indicate that this was probably a Type 22 <1, 2>.
