Full description
Hexagonal brick and concrete pillbox (Type 22 <1>) standing on the W bank of the New River at Wormley. The brickwork is not in good condition and has collapsed at two corners. All apertures and the entrance have been concreted up. There are good views to the W over open farmland but the view to the N is totally obscured by the spinney and a long line of 19 concrete anti-tank blocks <1>, each 4' 6" high, stretching northwards from the pillbox along the river bank <2>.
