Full description
In 1938 Castle Cottage was pulled down. Excavations for a gardener's cottage exposed three human skeletons in a row and three skulls. A medieval date was suggested, although they are possibly re-interred. They are probably associated with the bishops' prison [13250] <1> and could be early post-medieval. See also [9812].
No anomalies which might relate to burials were found in geophysics in 2017 <3>.
