Full description
A Romano-British pot found in 1936 'near Hitchin' is now in Letchworth Museum (1976.628; ex Hitchin Museum 1939.39.7) <1, 3, 4>, described as a small red ware vase with faint specks of glaze remaining <2>. According to John Morris it may be Romano-Saxon <1>, although such a description does not tally with 'specks of glaze'. It has a bulbous shape and is only three inches high <3>.
