Full description
Mound <1>. Probably flattened in recent landscaping of Newsell Park [1831], nothing visible in the area <2>.
A large elongated mound (40 x 25m) is shown clearly on <3>, apparently with a pond on the top. It looks like a prospect mound, belonging to the landscaped grounds of a country house (in this case Newsells Park). If the map does show a pond, this implies a secondary use as a reservoir to provide water for the house [10905].
